We are delighted to announce the appointment of James Gascoigne as a Partner at Howard & Co Solicitors LLP, recognising his dedication, specialist expertise and valuable contribution to our Family Law team.
James joined Howard & Co in 2022 and has since become an important member of our Childcare team based at our Regent Street Branch, providing experienced legal advice and representation to children, parents and extended family members involved in complex family law matters.
A Wealth of Experience in Family and Children Law
James qualified as a solicitor in 2013, having previously gained experience in matrimonial and private children law at another South Yorkshire firm.
Since 2015, he has specialised in childcare law, developing extensive experience in representing children, parents and other family members in care proceedings, particularly where social services are involved.
James holds a First Class Honours Law degree and achieved a Commendation on the Legal Practice Course. He has also been an accredited member of the Law Society Children Panel since 2018, demonstrating his specialist knowledge and experience in children law.
In August 2025, James reached another significant milestone in his legal career when he was appointed as a Deputy District Judge, further recognising his professional expertise and experience within the family justice system.
