Recently, our Conveyancing Solicitor, Nathan Shepherd attended a careers event at Penistone Grammar School alongside Trainee Solicitor, Kerry Raynor. The event provided an excellent opportunity to speak with students who are considering their future careers and are curious about working in the legal sector.
Encouraging Young People to Consider a Career in Law
During the event, Nathan and Kerry spoke with students about what it is really like to work in a modern law firm. They shared insights into their day-to-day roles, the types of matters they help clients with, and the different pathways available for those who are interested in becoming solicitors.
For many students, the legal profession can seem complex or difficult to access. Events like this are a valuable way to explain that there are now several routes into law, and that with dedication and the right support, it is an achievable and rewarding career.
Nathan also explained the role of conveyancing solicitors and how they help people through one of the most significant moments in their lives - buying or selling a home. Kerry spoke about her experience as a trainee solicitor and the practical learning that comes with training within a busy and supportive legal team.

The Next Careers Event
Nathan & Kerry will be continuing their work in the local community by attending another careers event at The Barnsley Academy on Thursday 9th July.
The event will give students the opportunity to learn more about the legal profession, ask questions about studying law, and understand the different routes available to becoming a solicitor.
